In 2025, South Seas was honoured to participate in the Riverstone Water Resource Recovery Facility (WRRF) control system upgrade, a key component of Australia’s Northwest Treatment Hub (NWTH) Growth Program. South Seas was responsible for supplying critical Control Panels and Distribution Boards, supporting the expansion of treatment capacity and enabling intelligent facility operation.
As a vital municipal infrastructure node in Sydney’s northwest, the Riverstone WRRF handles centralised wastewater treatment, resource recovery, and environmentally responsible discharge. The control and distribution systems provided by South Seas included PLC automation control panels, remote I/O enclosures, instrumentation panels, power distribution boards, and UPS distribution units. All equipment was designed in accordance with IEC, AS/NZS 61439, and AS/NZS 3000 standards, with robust protection against dust, corrosion, and high-humidity environments.
South Seas undertook the full design and manufacturing process, optimising the modular layout to match Riverstone’s site-specific control logic and installation requirements. Comprehensive FAT testing, wiring diagrams, installation documentation, and remote technical support were also provided. All distribution systems were equipped with SCADA interfaces, ensuring seamless integration with the existing water utility monitoring platform for centralised management and remote maintenance.
The successful delivery of this project highlights South Seas’ proven capabilities in electrical system integration for Australia’s water sector and further strengthens our foundation in sustainable municipal infrastructure development.
