In 2025, South Seas was honoured to participate in the Rouse Hill Water Resource Recovery Facility (WRRF) expansion project, led by Sydney Water in New South Wales, Australia. As part of the Northwest Treatment Hub (NWTH) Growth Program, the project addresses the increasing wastewater treatment demands driven by rapid population growth in Sydney’s northwest region. South Seas was responsible for the design and supply of key electrical systems for the sludge treatment and inlet upgrade sections.
The Rouse Hill WRRF expansion encompasses sludge treatment unit upgrades, inlet pumping station capacity enhancements, new electrical room construction, and intelligent control system upgrades. To support this, South Seas delivered an integrated electrical control solution, including MCC low-voltage switchboards, VSD drive systems, field isolators, distribution boards, and local control panels — all designed and manufactured in compliance with IEC and Australian water industry standards.
In response to the challenges of complex operating environments and tight construction coordination at the Rouse Hill site, the South Seas team worked closely with the main contractor and on-site EIC engineers to ensure that all equipment modules were highly compatible, quick to install, robust in protection, and easy to commission. This ensured the safe operation and intelligent upgrade of the facility's electrical system.
This project marks another successful implementation of South Seas' smart electrical solutions in Australia’s water infrastructure sector. Looking ahead, we remain committed to supporting sustainable infrastructure development and contributing technological expertise to urban environmental management.
