In 2025, South Seas was honoured to supply the Low Voltage Motor Control Centre (LV MCC) system for the TC (Treatment Centre) node of the Northwest Treatment Hub (NWTH) Growth Program. Led by Sydney Water, this project aims to enhance the operational efficiency and intelligence of wastewater treatment systems in response to the growing population and increasing water demand in Sydney’s northwest region.
The MCC panels provided by South Seas were designed and type-tested in full compliance with IEC 61439 and AS/NZS 3439 standards. They feature strong modular expansion capabilities and high resistance to humid and hot environments, meeting the stringent requirements of the water industry for power supply continuity and system reliability. The supplied units included motor starter modules, variable frequency drive (VSD) control units, remote I/O modules, and SCADA communication interfaces — enabling stable integration into the existing automation platform with full support for remote control and fault diagnostics.
South Seas was responsible for end-to-end delivery, including design, manufacturing, FAT testing, and packaging for transport. We also provided comprehensive installation guidance documents, wiring diagrams, maintenance manuals, and remote commissioning support to ensure quick, safe deployment on site.
This successful collaboration further reinforces South Seas’ technical strength and service reputation in Australian municipal water infrastructure projects, while also laying a solid foundation for future smart upgrades in environmental and public utility systems.
