In 2025, South Seas was honoured to supply and provide on-site technical support for the outdoor MCC, high-voltage variable frequency drive (HV VVVF), and I/O control cabinets for the Kiniero Gold Mine project in Guinea. This project is managed by engineering company ECG and funded by Robex Resources, a Canadian-listed mining firm. Located in the Siguiri Basin in southwestern Guinea, the Kiniero mine utilises the CIL (Carbon-in-Leach) process and is designed as a 5Mtpa processing facility — with the ability to reach 6Mtpa during the early-stage blending of oxide ore. Construction is progressing steadily, with the first gold pour targeted for Q4 2025.

South Seas’ technical service scope was broad and included:

Incoming inspection, interface verification, and technical handover for outdoor MCCs, HV VVVFs, and I/O cabinets.

Terminal wiring, loop checking, interlock verification, and functional testing with the site control system.

Installation assistance and placement verification, including guidance on sealing and thermal adaptation under high-temperature, dusty conditions.

Full FAT → shipping protection → SAT workflow support, including quality control documentation and as-built handover manuals.

This engagement not only showcased South Seas’ engineering responsiveness and delivery resilience on international mining projects but also deepened collaboration with both ECG and Robex teams. It lays a strong foundation for future project expansion across the West African mining sector.
